Sasayama castle town area
offers Samurai related experiences from Edo period.
You can wear the Samurai armor of your choice or the Princess gown to take photos at the Oshoin

Make a Japanese style sachet
You can mix spices to create your own sachet at the Historical Area of the Aoyama Clan

Ojiyama pottery experience
You can make your own Ojiyama pottery chopstick rest or small plate at Historical Museum.
Fee: 1,000yen per piece plus shipping cost.(It might take more than 1 month to fire the piece.)

Matcha Experience
You can try simple matcha tea ceremony experience at Anma historical museum and Samurai house.

Museum of Noh Artifacts, Sasayama
Welcome to the world of mysterious elegance! This museum displays private collections related to Noh performance such as Noh masks, costumes, and music instruments. They are authentic collections which are from Muromachi period (600 years ago) to Edo period (400 years ago). Even if you don't know so much about Noh itself, very friendly and knowledgeable staff will explain in English.

Tamba Cotton Threading experience
This area has a cultural history of over 300 years, with people making their own clothes from the cotton they grew in their fields. There are three facilities where members gather at certain times each week to preserve this tradition. You can visit two out of the three facilities and experience the process of making thread from cotton balls.

Fossil Excavation experience
Location: Genki-mura Kamikuge view on Google map
Open: Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Reservations not required.
(For groups wishing to visit on weekdays must make a reservation.)
Hours: 10:00 - 16:00 (until 15:00 in December, January, and February).
Duration: 50 minutes or less. (You will take turn at the time schedule shows.)
Fee : 500 yen per person (for both adults and children)
Available tools: Hammers, work gloves, protective goggles are available to use for free.
⚠️Fossils you found cannot be taken home. They will be stored at the museum as research materials.

・Please purchase a ticket for the "Excavation Experience" of your desired time at the cafeteria.
・Schedule is shown below. The participants number for each time slot is limited to 20.
・If your desired time is full, the next session will be scheduled.
・There will be an explanation before the start. Please get together 3 minutes before the start time.

Kakishibu dyeing(persimmon tannin dyeing)
You can dye natural material (such as cotton, flax, silk) with Kakishibu(persimmon tannin) at Fuitto. Booking required in advance. Sunny days only since the workshop is done outside. Please confirm the day before in case of the weather forecast predicts the rain.
