2024 Walla Walla Sister City Project ①
A group from the sister city project has arrived again this year. Last year, due to the 50th anniversary, many adults and high school students came, but this year, we welcomed six high school students and two chaperones for a short-term exchange program.
In our home, we hosted one male chaperone. He has been involved in this project for 24 years and has visited Sasayama multiple times. Therefore, even before his arrival, we received messages from him saying, 'I want to meet this person, that person, and another person after arriving in Japan,' as well as requests from Japan expressing, 'I heard he is coming; I would love to meet him.'
As a result, unlike last year's family hosting experience, we decided to ask about his schedule upon arrival and plan accordingly.
His arrival was scheduled late night of the 11th, but due to flight delays, it was pushed back even later. On top of that, their luggage arrived the following afternoon, creating a bit of an issue! After returning home, we showed him to the bedroom, bathroom, and washroom so he could rest.
Welcome! Thank you for coming such a long way. We look forward to the next ten days together! 🥰
