Delicious and Enjoyable Dinner Time!

After such a long time, I met with American sisters who live in Hyogo prefecture. Today, they prepared a delicious dinner for us! 🍽️😋
The menu was chili and cinnamon rolls! We enjoyed lively conversations and filled our bellies.

Apparently, it all started with a conversation between the girls and one of my son about what comfort food might be. For these sisters, chili and cinnamon rolls represent that comfort food, and they ended up wanting to eat it.

It would be nice to have a big pot and a spacious kitchen!
Not at our place. How about yours?
Not at mine either. Hmm...

That's right! Let's go to my parents' house! 😆

In our family, we used to live with seven people, and we still gather with friends and all sometimes, so we have quite a few large pots and bowls. My daughters often baked cakes and pies, so we have plenty of baking tools, including a fairly large gas oven.

Thus, an impromptu family(?) dinner party was on!

The sisters loaded up their car with ingredients and drove for about an hour and a half. 🚗
We also bought some ingredients, but we left all the cooking to the sisters!
Both of them seem to be experienced cooks; the cinnamon rolls were made with yeast for authentic flavor, and they brought their special homemade spices for the chili.

While waiting, my second son and I peeled a lot of apples we received from our friend to make applesauce, and his girlfriend came over to help as well.

Everyone was making something while enjoying lively and fun conversations, creating a super relaxed atmosphere 😊.
The finished meal was served on special plates, and we all enjoyed it together.
As the wonderful time of delicious dinner and fun conversation came to an end, everyone returned to their respective places to prepare for work the next morning.

With the kids having moved out, our home is usually quiet, but today felt lively and exciting, like Christmas time!
