It's snowing!
It's snowing!!❄️☃️❄️
Usually, in Tamba Sasayama, we see the first snow around the end of December, then till February it snows off and on.
So among the locals around November, usually the conversation goes, "Did you change the tires yet?" meaning if you changed from summer tires to winter tires. We want to be prepared for the snowy weather that might come any time from then, you know.
There are interesting local superstition(?) or sayings that "When you see many stink bugs in autumn, you will have a heavy snow that winter" or "If you see the flowers of the tea plants blooming upwards, you will have a heavy snow."
And we saw many many stink bugs in autumn, so we were all ready for the heavy snow winter.
However, up until now, we didn't have any snow this winter, but here it is!
I'm not sure how heavy this snow will be this time, but it sure looks pretty!
Mountain, field, roads, everything is white!
I like snow, well, better than rain at least as long as I don't have to drive in the snowy day.
Usually the snow melts by lunch time, especially around the castle town area which is lower altitude than where we live.
However, where we live, besides the fact that we live in higher altitude, the small hill across the street prevents the sunlight to come through. Therefore, our house tend to keep the snow until it becomes sunny again!
Anyways, we will see how long it will take to melt the snow this time😆
Also, we pray that the people from affected area in Ishikawa earthquake will stay warm and all their needs provided 🙏❤️
