Our first guest came!
We had our first guest!
A mother and her daughter who wanted to experience the countryside
came and stayed for 5 nights and 6 days from July 27 to August 1.
The daughter will have a piano recital in August,
so she practiced a little bit every day using our keyboard.
When the practice was finished..,
We picked vegetables together from our garden,
did carpentry work together
also made Shiso juice and smoothies together.
We went to the local watermelon festival in Oyama,
Tamba Cotton Labo in Fukuzumi and experienced spinning cotton into yarn.
The chief priest of Kozoji temple made a special arrangement for us
to plant hydrangeas in the temple property😊.
Although my husband and I were just going about our daily life as usual,
"This is what we wanted to do!" said the mother.
So happy to hear that 😆.
While my husband was out with the daughter
I had a girls' talk with the mother!
Talking about raising kids and other things... 😍
It was 6 days in a blink of an eye!
After they went home, the mother wrote this nice review: ⬇️
(PS: The piano recital went well despite her nervousness!)
Treasure of my life
My daughter, who is in 2nd grade, and I stayed with John and Yoko for 5 nights and 6 days in the countryside.
It was truly a wonderful experience
and I am filled with gratitude for John and Yoko's concern.
I felt as if I had made new relatives.
Yoko was always patient with my daughter's long conversations.
She was so patient with my daughter's long stories that
my daughter even started to make up her own original plays and performed them in front of everyone!
Yoko also gave me a lot of advice on how to raise my child,
based on her experience of raising five children.
It was very encouraging.
John and Yoko, you two taught me the most important things about raising children.
I will treasure them forever.
John was always very good at capturing my daughter's inquisitive mind,
and he taught her many skills
while she assisted him with DIY door making
and helped him with gathering vegetables from the garden.
My daughter's growth over the past six days has been amazing!
One morning, when I picked fruits and vegetables with my daughter and had a dreamy breakfast with her,
my daughter said, "I want to live like this!"
I had hoped that she would grow up to be a person who can feel nature,
so It was a moment that made me truly happy!
My daughter also had an opportunity to draw a picture.
When she sees something beautiful or moving, she draws.
I realized that when we see something beautiful or inspiring,
we would feel the urge to express that feeling somehow.
I realized once again the importance of nature.
Yoko arranged activities for us to enjoy,
such as spinning yarn and planting hydrangeas at a temple.
We were able to experience the wisdom of the people of the past.
It was a very precious time with a lot of learning.
It was such a wonderful encounter that I feel it was no coincidence.
Thank you, John and Yoko, very much.
