Thank You Card From Children
I received a sweet Thank You card from the children.
What did I do???
Well, I started teaching at a certain elementary school in our city since October 2023. My position is called JTE (Japanese Teacher of English
), which involves assisting classroom teachers with their English classes for students.
I taught 5th graders and 6th graders. As the Japanese school year begins in April and ends in March, the 6th graders whom I have been assisting will be graduating soon.
Children from both of the classes took some time to write sweet notes, and the teachers compiled and laminated them to create a lovely card. It is a shame that I cannot share the children's happy smiles, but those cards greatly touched my heart.
I hope they will enjoy learning English as a language rather than just a subjects to be graded. English expanded my life significantly, connecting me with many people from different countries and cultures, making my life so much more interesting!
I hope my teaching will help the children experience that excitement while they are still young.
From April, I will have new students - the new 5th graders, in addition to the new 6th graders who used to be 5th graders with whom I had a great time. I wonder what kind of new students and possibly new teachers will I meet?
During the spring break, our homestay is fully booked from March 26-30 and March 31 - April 4.
It's another new opportunity to meet new people! I'm so thankful for this fun exciting life!
