Three sisters and kids

05/05/2024

Three sisters and their kids came to stay with us this time.
Apparently, they live relatively close to each other and often take trips together.
They stayed for 2 nights 3 days, and we had a full house!

One of the sisters and her children, ages 10 and 2, arrived at Tamba Oyama station, followed by other sisters and their children, ages 9, 6, 2, and 15months, and the father of the sisters came along in a car.
So 3 adults and 6 children all together to stay!

At the beginning, the eldest girl was scared of a butterfly or any bugs, not to speak of chickens! All the other children were also very cautious about the countryside surroundings which was so unfamiliar to them.

After the house tour, lunch at the big round table, and a nice walk around our neighbor, the father went home saying "I will be back!"😆

John came join us after his online teaching job. He gathered all the children in the bedroom, and pulled out various English cards and games. They were very attentive to what was going on. Their attention span was amazing!

In the mean time, Some of the boys were very into dinosaurs and even brought the toy dinosaurs with them. They played with LEGOs making dinosaurs park, with some farm animals from the set. Very creative!
Also some of the boys practiced Capoeira (dance/martial arts from Brazil) which was very interesting. We brought out various toys for them, some for younger ones, others for older ones. The children helped each other, and generally speaking, all the cousins are so sweet to each other.

They took a bath, although some of them fell asleep after a big day.  Sweet dreams!💤

The next morning, our neighbors invited us to see the rice planting. Of course the weather affects a lot for farming, and it was a perfect weather. Sooo, we all got together and went to see the planting procedure.
It was done by machine, so there was nothing much they could do, but the children enjoyed catching butterflies and other insects as well. Rice planting was something I was not familiar with, so it was very interesting for me too!

It was amazing to see the children's adaptability to the environment. Just yesterday, they were so scared to even see the bugs but now they were catching them. Same with the chickens too. They were scared, and uncertain feelings were visible all over their faces, but now they wanted to feed the chickens and even catch them!

Anyway, after the rice planting session, they moved on to Namikimichi Central Park. I heard they had a great time, and will go to the same park the next day again because the children's day festival would be held.
It is a very big park, so if you have children, it is highly recommended to take them to burn their energy! Various equipments are available to use.

After they came back, one of the sisters with a baby girl went home with her husband who came to pick them up. We didn't have much chance to talk, but the girl was so cute and cuddly! Missing her a lot already!

Well, it is already the last night for them to stay. After nice Pizza dinner, they took turn to take a bath and were getting ready for bed. We were chilling with our own family at the outside round table, then the children started coming to see us and wanted to share their snacks and other foods they brought, so sweet!, and also wanted to do the Capoeira performance.
So we went inside and had fun together.

The next morning, we went out to see our chickens together while mamas were packing their stuff to move on. Two older children both managed to hold the chicken, while the younger ones were happily feeding them. We found one egg in the coop, so we brought in for the eldest girl to cook and taste!
I heard the eldest boy seriously wanted to see if he could keep one of the chicken, negotiate the price and work out the financial matter with his mom😆
I am so happy that he enjoyed our chicken so much!

It was such a short, but power packed and interesting time we shared.
Thank you for coming! See you all again some time!🤗
