We received Guest #3!
This time we had one guest, a woman from Kochi Prefecture.
She drove 4 hours to come here.
It was her first trip alone, being away from home without her high school child and husband.
She came to our house by car, and I welcomed her at the parking space in our property.
We brought her luggage in together and she came in.
We had a cup of tea and boy, we talked a lot!
"You've got to go buy groceries soon!" 😆 .
"Yeah I need to, don't I?",
and then the conversation got going again.😂
In turned into a girls' party 😂.
We talked and talked even after dinner till past midnight!
And then, the next day, guest #1 came to visit us for a day trip!
She also chatted with our guest!
It's nice that the guests get to make connections with each other like this 🤗.
So from then on for the rest of her stay, we went to eat out, and sightseeing in the pottery area and the castle town area.
We even went to Tambaryu-no-Sato Park!
(Someone found some fossils of dinosaur nearby not so long ago. )
We talked about many things along the way and had fun until the very end!
She said she would like to come back next time with her daughter.
We would love to see you and your daughter too 😍.
Please come back anytime!
We'll be waiting for you!
Lastly, I would like to share the wonderful review she wrote! ⬇️
I participated in the countryside homestay by myself.
The host family couple was close to my age.
There was something about their past experiences, their way of life, their way of thinking and being.
The talk with them was right-on and inspiration for my current situation.
I had never traveled alone till my age so I was very nervous.
However, when I arrived in the evening and was greeted by Yoko-san, we had such a lively conversation that I could hardly believe we had never met before.
Just like meeting an old friend!
After dinner, we stayed up late talking. Neither of us had stayed up that late in years.
The next day, Yoko-san took me shopping where we bought food and spent time talking again.
Tamba Sasayama is a town with pottery and history, so I requested to go to see pottery.
Yoko-san gave me a detailed explanation of Tamba pottery and the history of the area before we arrived there.
I also found out that there was a sake brewery, so we stopped by and bought some sake.
I bought Tambayaki pottery as a souvenir too.
Tamba Sasayama is also famous for the dinosaur fossils found there,
and John and Yoko-san took me to see them.
On the fourth day, we went to the castle town.
We paid a visit to "Makekirai Inari" and went to the castle town.
I was impressed by the nostalgic atmosphere of the town.
Again, Yoko-san gave me detailed information about the town.
Then we went to Sasayama Castle. The castle is similar to Nijo Castle in Kyoto, and Yoko-san taught us a lot about this castle as well.
Sightseeing with a guide is a great way to learn about things that only local people know, and it is also a great way to discover new things, so it was a great experience.
In the evening, we had a great time making beer bread with John
and watching movies together.
I also cooked meals with Yoko-san and she taught me many dishes.
I feel like I have a sister now who I can talk about anything to, and I hope to go see her again!
